Presentation History Origins
The origins of the Louis Max Company are to be found in Georgia.
In the 19th century, Evgueni Louis Max left his native country to come and settle in Burgundy.
In turn, Evgueni Louis Max fell in love with Burgundy. In 1859, he decided to found his own Burgundy wine company in Nuits-Saint-Georges, to which he gave his name: LOUIS MAX.
Following the devastation as a result of the phylloxera epidemic, the vineyard was reconstituted in the first half of the 20th century. Since then, the Maison has ensured that the Burgundy appellations which Louis Max produces and raises with care and passion remain a permanent fixture.
