Presentation History Evolution
From the very beginning, the Louis Max Company has had an obsession: quality. It is only when the wines have reached an irreproachable level that it will agree to put its name to the appellations. Indeed in 1929, the writer Colette, while visiting the company's cellars, was so impressed with this quality and the beauty of the site that she wrote a few words of praise.
Maison Louis Max continues its spirit of a family-run business. . In 1889, Théodore Max built the house which still contains today the cellars, the reception rooms, the offices, as well as the famous tasting room.In 1911, Théodore had a case of Musigny sent by plane - a Blériot - to Lord Ismay, Chairman of the White Star Line.
