Louis Max was successful in making the company's activities prosper. In 1935, he bought seven barrels of Pommard at the Hospices de Beaune auction sale. Moreover, he became a member of many societies and wine associations such as the renowned Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. Well known and recognised by his peers, he signed numerous contracts with small vinegrowers in the region to supply him with must and grapes. Today, the Louis Max Company still maintains a link with all the vinegrowers.
In 1972, Louis Max built in Nuits-Saint-Georges a new building which today houses the blending and processing rooms, the bottling line, the packaging and shipping platform and the Louis Max Company's laboratory. Marcel died prematurely in 1976. It was then that Laurent Max succeeded him. Both a salesman and a manager, like his predecessors, he has continued to develop the company's activities.
